This is the last session! Today you will learn how World War II led directly into what has been called the Cold War. You will learn about the effects of World War II and the post-war plans developed by the Allies, including the creation of the United Nations. You have also learned how the end of World War II began a competition between world superpowers known as the Cold War. By the lesson's end, you should know what the Americans and Soviets disagreed so strongly over and how the world's leaders tried to prevent another large-scale war from breaking out again.

Tue May 7, 10:00 PM
We will discuss the events that took place during World War II, which will include a brief discussion on the Holocaust as well as an in-depth analysis of the buildings of the first Atomic Bomb. Additionally, we will examine how this war led to the start of the Cold War and significant events such as the Cuban missile crisis, the Test-Ban Treaty, the Berlin crisis, communism, and the fall of the Soviet Union. We'll also talk about people who had significant effects on the course of the war but aren't very well known, like Oleg Penkovsky, Harry Seidel, or Janet Chisholm. We'll also talk about the Space Race and other equally interesting and suspenseful events. We'll then end the session with a competitive game of Kahoot/Blooket. If you're interested in learning about the events that occurred between 1935 and 1991 in an interactive and interesting environment, feel free to attend!
